Abstract
Skeletal dysplasias encompass more than 700 distinct genetic disorders, yet the existing literature disproportionately addresses pediatric care or focuses narrowly on individual conditions such as achondroplasia. This leaves a substantial and clinically important gap, the comprehensive, longitudinal management of adults living with skeletal dysplasia. This article addresses that gap by providing a condition-spanning, adult-focused framework for the multisystem complications across the full range of domains relevant to adult patients: vision, hearing, bone density, cardiovascular health, respiratory health, psychosocial well-being, pain, women's health, weight management, mobility and activities of daily living, and transportation. By emphasizing proactive, systems-based screening and coordinated multidisciplinary care, this article extends recent international consensus statements advocating standardized, lifelong management, translating those principles into an actionable framework for the adult population that has been underserved by existing guidelines.
