About Heather
Heather L. Young is a faculty member in the University of Florida’s Department of Agricultural Education and Communication. Her work contributes to the study and teaching of agricultural communication, science communication, and public engagement with evidence. She has collaborated on research examining scientific trust and crisis communication, including public understanding of avian influenza. Her interests include the ways audiences interpret health, agricultural, and environmental information, as well as strategies that strengthen credibility and informed decision-making. Through research and education, she supports communication practices that connect scientific knowledge with the needs and concerns of diverse communities.
