About Joyce
Dr. Joyce E. Johnson, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, Associate Professor at The Catholic University of America, previously served as CNO at Robert Wood Johnson and Georgetown University Hospitals and the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Johnson has lectured throughout the country, received numerous awards, and has published over 120 articles, books and book chapters on contemporary nursing leadership/academic topics. Her text publications include books on automation in healthcare and business planning for nurse executives, the latter of which received the American Journal of Nursing's Book of the Year award. She is on editorial boards of several nursing journals and periodicals, and for 13 years was the publisher and founder of Nursing Connections, the first nationally refereed scholarly journal to be published from a practice setting. She has served on the Boards of the NLN, AONE and Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Science. Dr. Johnson has offered Congressional committee testimony on contemporary health care issues, and she provides consultancy regarding nurse executive career advancement and the acquisition of leadership essentials.
