Vaccination: Evidence, Confidence, and Uptake

Recent research connecting vaccine innovation and clinical evidence with public confidence, informed decision-making, and equitable immunization uptake.

Peer-reviewedOpen accessTheme issue

Introduction

Vaccination programs depend on more than the availability of effective products. Their success also reflects how evidence is communicated, whether recommendations address the needs of specific populations, and whether communities trust the institutions and professionals delivering care. Scientific innovation, public confidence, access, and implementation therefore form parts of the same public-health challenge.

This theme issue brings together recent Medical Research Archives articles across that continuum. The collection examines vaccine platforms and protection for immunocompromised patients, vaccination in cancer prevention, misinformation and mistrust surrounding mpox vaccination, decision-making during pregnancy and postpartum, and community engagement to improve childhood immunization coverage. Together, these studies connect biomedical progress with the social and practical conditions that shape vaccine uptake.
