Abstract

Introduction: Lymphomas are a group of solid malignant neoplasms which have lymphoid origin. They are subdivided into Hodgkin lymphomas (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) and due to their location, they can be found in lymph nodes or they can be extranodal. Its presentation in the oral cavity is rare.
Purpose: The objective of this article is to present a patient with primary B cell lymphoma in the oral cavity and to review the literature.
Clinical case: A 39-year-old patient with medical history of right cervical actinomycosis in 2000. Smoker of 20 cigarettes per day and occasional cannabis. He is referred by his dentist to evaluate a tumor that began one and a half month-prior to the first visit appointment, located in the first quadrant and associated with teeth 1.4 and 1.5 which has not improved after root canal treatment. Histopathological and immunohistochemical studies reveal high proliferation of B lymphoid tissue.
Conclusion: All tumor lesions that do not respond to clear diagnostic criteria should be studied and, if necessary, biopsied as early as possible to reach a diagnosis.
