About Angelea
Angelea Panos is an associate professor at Utah Valley University and director of the university's substance use disorder counseling program. She holds a bachelor's degree and Master of Social Work from the University of Utah, as well as a master's degree and PhD from Fielding Graduate University. Her teaching includes global social work, advanced applied research, couples therapy, and psychopharmacology for substance use disorder counseling. Her scholarly interests encompass refugee adaptation, trauma-informed practice, rural Mozambique, and healthcare access for people experiencing homelessness. Panos's work brings together behavioral health education, applied research, and social care, with a focus on culturally responsive approaches to trauma, substance use, and community wellbeing.
