About Patrick
Patrick T. Panos is an associate professor in the University of Utah College of Social Work. His training spans psychology, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling psychology, and public health, with postgraduate preparation in refugee trauma and clinical neuropsychology. His teaching and research interests include distance learning, international social work, participatory community-based research, refugee trauma, and cross-cultural mental health. His published work examines medical respite for people experiencing homelessness, the experiences of Somali refugee mothers in the United States, and resilience after climate-related disasters in Mozambique. Through these areas, he connects clinical practice, community research, and social work education across diverse settings.
