About Colm
Colm O’Morain, MD, is emeritus professor of medicine at Trinity College Dublin and a senior leader in Irish and European gastroenterology. He has served as dean, national clinical lead, and president of several professional societies. His research group helped establish that eradication of Helicobacter pylori can cure duodenal ulcer disease, and he has contributed to nutritional treatment for inflammatory bowel disease. He also initiated pilot work that supported national colorectal-cancer screening. His current interests include gastric-cancer screening, digestive-disease policy, clinical research coordination, and the translation of gastroenterology evidence into population health programs.
