About KATSUTOSHI

Katsutoshi Miura is a professor emeritus of pathology at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in Japan and an anatomical pathologist with experience in diagnostic pathology. His research has explored the use of scanning acoustic microscopy to examine tissue structure and mechanical properties, particularly in relation to aging and disease. Through studies of lung and renal artery tissues, he has investigated changes in stiffness and elasticity that may be difficult to characterize through conventional light microscopy alone. His broader scholarly work also includes the application of acoustic microscopy to distinguish cellular and pathological features, connecting experimental pathology with the development of imaging methods for diagnostic research.
