About Margaret
Margaret I. Fitch, PhD, is an oncology nursing leader, educator, and researcher whose work has advanced supportive cancer care in Canada and internationally. She served for more than two decades as head of oncology nursing and co-director of the Psychosocial and Behavioral Research Unit at the Odette Cancer Centre. Her research addresses coping, adaptation to illness, palliative care, patient and family support, and the experience of cancer care. A founding president of the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology, she has also led international efforts to strengthen oncology nursing education and practice.
