Mary Anne LAURI

Studied psychology at the University of Malta. Read for a Masters in social psychology at the London School of Economics (LSE) and later a Doctorate on the social psychology of social marketing under the supervision of Prof George Gaskell at the LSE. Joined the University of Malta in 1992 as a member of the Department of Psychology. Was promoted to Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and later to Professor. Was president of the Maltese Psychological Association, now the Malta Chamber of Psychologists. For ten years, between 2006 and 2016, was Pro-Rector at the University of Malta. Co-authored several publications and published in both local and international journals. Sit on various boards both within and outside University. Areas of research include media psychology, social marketing, social representations and wellbeing. Actively involved in political, media and voluntary organisations.
