About Russell
Russell C. Rockne, PhD, is a professor in computational and quantitative medicine at City of Hope and director of its Division of Mathematical Oncology. His research applies mathematics, physics, computation, and evolutionary theory to cancer biology and treatment. He develops models that describe tumor growth, cellular state transitions, treatment response, and interactions within the tumor microenvironment. Working with laboratory scientists and clinicians, he aims to translate quantitative methods into tools for predicting disease behavior and personalizing therapy. His interdisciplinary program includes leukemia, brain tumors, immunology, systems biology, and the integration of complex biomedical data.
