Abstract

The effect of cyclic forces on bone structures and morphology is extensively documented, particularly in orthopedic literature. This study investigates the application of cyclic forces in orthodontics, integrating them with conventional static forces into a standardized clinical protocol. Specific clear aligners and a visco-elastic device were developed to transmit patient-generated cyclic loads to the craniofacial skeletal structures. This protocol facilitates the restoration of physiological functions (which themselves constitute cyclic forces), mastication, deglutition, and respiration, consequently, this harmonization based on cyclic loading promotes the recovery of specific facial proportional parameters.
