About Erica
Erica Sappington, PhD, is a clinical research manager at the University of Florida Precision Health Research Center in The Villages. She has more than a decade of experience conducting studies with older adults, including work involving participant engagement, research operations, technology adoption, and health monitoring. Her scholarship has examined how older adults use smartwatches and passive sensing systems and what support is needed to make such tools practical and acceptable. She contributes to multidisciplinary research on aging, brain health, cardiovascular monitoring, and digital health, helping translate study protocols and emerging technologies into reliable real-world research with community participants.
