Abstract
Primary immunodeficiency disorders (PID) are genetic diseases that primarily manifest as susceptibility to infections. Paradoxically, however, PIDs have been associated with autoimmunity as well. An understanding of the underlying mechanisms of immunity that are disrupted in PIDs actually offers windows of opportunities into understanding how autoimmunity develops, and offers potential targets for curative treatment.
