About Marion

Marion Saville, MBChB, is an anatomic pathologist and executive director of the Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer. She is an internationally recognized leader in cervical screening, human papillomavirus testing, and population-based cancer prevention. Her work has supported Australia’s transition to HPV-based cervical screening and the expansion of self-collection approaches designed to improve participation and equity. She contributes to clinical guidelines, laboratory quality, research, and international programs aimed at eliminating cervical cancer. Her career combines pathology, public-health implementation, policy development, and collaboration with communities underserved by conventional screening services.
