About Amina

Amina Akter is an assistant professor in the Department of Paediatric Nephrology at Bangladesh Medical University in Dhaka. She is a pediatric nephrologist whose clinical and academic work addresses kidney disease in children, including urinary tract infection, chronic kidney disease, nephrotic syndrome, lupus nephritis, and acute kidney injury. Her research has examined clinical predictors of neurocognitive status in children with chronic kidney disease, pediatric urinary pathogens and antimicrobial susceptibility, and renal complications associated with systemic illness. She has also contributed to reports on lupus nephritis, neonatal scurvy, harlequin ichthyosis, and acute kidney injury after wasp stings. Her recent study evaluates the microbiological profile and antibiotic resistance patterns of pediatric urinary tract infections in a tertiary nephrology setting in Bangladesh.
