About Onia
Onia Akter is a resident in Pediatric Nephrology at Bangladesh Medical University in Dhaka, formerly Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. She earned an MBBS from Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and is completing an MD in Pediatric Nephrology at Bangladesh Medical University. Her clinical interests center on pediatric urinary tract disorders, renal disease, and obstructive uropathy. Her academic work includes a study of diuretic renography in children with obstructive uropathy, reflecting an interest in functional imaging and evaluation of urinary obstruction. She also contributed to the July 2026 Medical Research Archives study of pediatric UTI microbiology, antibiotic susceptibility, and clinical predictors in a tertiary-care setting in Bangladesh.
