About Claudia
Claudia Lucia Sotillo, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology, perioperative and pain medicine at Stanford University. She earned her medical degree at Boston University and practices within an academic anesthesia program that integrates clinical care, education, and research. Her work includes obstetric and perioperative anesthesia, with attention to maternal safety and recovery. She has collaborated on research evaluating anxiety and post-traumatic stress symptoms among postpartum inpatients. Her professional interests include patient-centered perioperative care, recognition of psychological distress after childbirth, and improving the systems used to support patients during anesthesia and early recovery.
