About Aleesha

Aleesha Jasmin Jethwa is a postdoctoral scholar in anesthesiology, perioperative and pain medicine at Stanford University. Working within obstetric anesthesiology, she studies the peripartum period and how targeted interventions may improve recovery trajectories after childbirth. Before joining Stanford, she trained and practiced as an anesthesiology resident in the United Kingdom, with experience in internal medicine, obstetrics, and pain medicine. She also completed graduate study in medical education at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include postpartum pain, psychological recovery, trauma symptoms, and the development of patient-centered measures and interventions for maternal health.
